Saying Goodbye to Eric Gordon

3north bids a fond farewell to Eric Gordon, the firm’s Graphic Designer extraordinaire, who is leaving the firm to accept a position with Burris, a Greensboro, North Carolina-based advertising agency. We’re all envious of Eric because he gets to be at home, wearing his favorite penguin pajamas, as he cyber commutes.

Eric came to 3north in a period of the firm’s transition. We had just moved into our new digs at Corrugated Box, increased in size, and started a couple of big projects. Eric, possibly the most organized person on earth, patiently produced lists, spread sheets, schedules, and e-mail reminders while churning out lots and lots of great work. He designed identity marks, logos, signs, way-finding programs, websites, IQ studies, marketing materials, posters, brochures, mailers, and more artwork than he (or any of us) cares to remember. And he did so patiently in a kind of design-by-committee scenario that was collaboration at its craziest. For better or worse, that’s the way we worked, and Eric was at the center of it all, holding it all together and making it happen.

We shall miss Eric’s can-do, re-do, and must-do attitude. We wish him all the best. We hope he will visit us again and again, and we hope he will be sporting his penguin pajamas when he does.
